Jerice was cleaning out files on her computer and thinks she may have trashed the Analysis ToolPak add-in by mistake. She was wondering how she can restore it, short of reinstalling Excel.
The Analysis ToolPak uses two files, named FUNCRES.XLAM and ATPVBAEN.XLAM. These two files are, respectively, the add-in and the VBA help file for the add-in. Normally they reside in a folder similar to the following:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE14\Library\Analysis\
The path can vary, of course, depending on how Office was installed on your system and which version of Office you are using. The above example is for a default installation of Office 2010.
If the files are not in that folder, then check your Recycle Bin to see if they are still there. You should also check to see if the actual folder for the Analysis ToolPak is in the Recycle Bin. If either the files or folder is there, undelete them and you should be fine.
If that doesn't work, then check the backups of your hard drive. (You do make backups, don't you?) If the files are there, you can move them to your system and the ToolPak should again be available.
The final solution is to run the Office Setup program and reinstall just the Analysis ToolPak. This will be much faster than reinstalling Excel, but you will still need to grab your Office product CDs in order to complete the installation.

I subscribe to Office 365, which currently runs Office 16. This path you cite does not exist on my system, but when I run a search, these files are found at C:\Program Files(X86)\Microsoft Office\root|OFFICE16\Library\Analysis\.

Excellent review of how the Analysis Toolpak generally works, we have an issue where the analysis toolpak is installed but can't find FUNCRES.XLAM, however if I search for FUNCRES.XLAM it is where it should be (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\Library\Analysis) and launch the file it opens Excel with the addin working, are you able to provide any hints as to what might be causing the issue.
We are using Office 2013 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise, thanks

SOLUTION!
I have been very stressed trying to get some VBA macros to work between Windows 7 to Windows 10. (Excel 2013). No amount of searching would work.
I had the "MISSING: SOLVER.XLAM" in the tools/references and couldn't find the NEW solver anywhere using any recommended paths.
I finally:
1- Went to the Excel 2013 Application
2 - Opened File/Options/Add-Ins
3 - On the page with the add ins, I clicked on the bottom "Manage Excel Add-Ins" .. "Go..." and found 4 SOLVER related Add-ins there.
4 - Once these were activated, I was able to RETURN to VBA (Alt-F11) and then the "SOLVER" option was available in the Tools/References!! Added it - my macros now work fine

How is it done in 2007? My Machine doesn't seem to have the same hierarchy as your example above for 2010.

Had a similar issue when I reloaded Windows in my Dell PC and my Office Suite disappeared. Contacted Microsoft via their website and they gave me a download link after confirming I had the Product Key

when I use Analysis ToolPak add-in, i got a problem.
i checked C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14LibraryAnalysis. The files were there. but it did not work because Excel cannot find it or extension is not right. unlucily, i only bought a Product key Card, not the disc. So how can I reinstall the Analysis ToolPak? Thanks!
